Scanxiety and Cancer:
What it is, Why it Happens, and
What to do About it
Tuesday, August17, 5:30-7:00 pm
This education session is led by therapist Kyle P. Stepler, LMHC at Community Health Network. His Scanxiety presentation has been well-received by patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals in helping them understand why follow-up testing in oncology care can be difficult for patients and their loved ones. Scanxiety is “anxiety that is experienced before, during, and after any type of medical testing for a chronic health issue." We'll be discussing what it is, why it happens and what we can do about it. Participants will be guided in developing their own personalized scanxiety plans.
